Ho Do International Music Festival
One of the city’s most anticipated events is the Ho Do International Music Festival. Held annually in December at Nguyen Hue Walking Street and Le Loi Street in District 1, this festival has become a staple for both locals and tourists. Organized by the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, Ho Do aims to provide a high-quality, free-of-charge artistic experience, aligning with the city’s vision to establish itself as a leading cultural center in the region. The festival features a rich tapestry of musical genres, showcasing both local talents and international artists.
Vietnam International Music & Arts Festival (VIMAF)
Another significant event is the Vietnam International Music & Arts Festival (VIMAF), which took place in December 2025. Organized by the Vietnam Cultural Industry Development Association (VCIDA) in collaboration with the Vietnam Institute of Arts Education (VIA Education) and the Soul Institute of Arts (SIA), VIMAF provided a professional platform for young Vietnamese artists and talents from Southeast Asia. The festival featured competitions in music and dance, with the top performances showcased during the gala night. VIMAF aimed to foster the development of Vietnam’s cultural industry and position the country as a new cultural and artistic destination in Asia.
City Tet Fest – Thu Duc
Celebrating the New Year, the City Tet Fest – Thu Duc 2025 was held at Saigon River Park in Thu Thiem Ward, Thu Duc City. This multi-faceted festival blended culture, community, technology, arts, creativity, and sustainability. The event featured a series of cultural, entertainment, art, culinary, shopping, and special games activities over five days, aiming to become a destination for entertainment during the New Year for the city’s residents and visitors.
Những Thành Phố Mơ Màng
Những Thành Phố Mơ Màng is a series of annual music festivals held in major cities across Vietnam, including Ho Chi Minh City. The events feature a diverse lineup of Vietnamese artists spanning genres such as indie, rock, hip-hop, and pop, attracting over 20,000 attendees per event. The festival series began in 2022 with its inaugural event in Ho Chi Minh City at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC), focusing on rock music for Gen Z audiences.
These festivals not only provide entertainment but also serve as platforms for cultural exchange and artistic expression, contributing to the vibrant and evolving music scene in Ho Chi Minh City.
